The Tarte ‘Maneater’ Palette comes with eight shades, in a mix of metallic, and matte finishes. After perusing Ulta for 20 minutes, I decided that I wanted something with metallic shadows that swatched nicely. I knew that I wanted a small palette, and something a bit different from what I already own. Since it wasn’t limited to non-prestige items I knew that it was my chance to treat myself. Maybe if you prefer a more lengthening mascara you might like it but it’s a pass for me. But I really don’t like the formula and it’s incredibly hard to apply so for that price I don’t recommend it. This mascara is ok, I mean I like the effect but there are mascaras I like way better. It lasts all day, I find it fairly easy to remove, I don’t have the black halo around my eyes when I wake up. On top of that, it makes it hard to reach all the lashes and it’s impossible to use on the lower ones, it makes them too spidery. While the effect is ok, the application is kind of tricky, the formula is quite wet and the brush is too long, so it’s basically guaranteed you’ll get dirty. It’s ok but not special, it’s a bit clumpy too and not as dramatic as I like. This mascara is quite lengthening but not too volumizing. I always do two coats of mascara to get the best results. The formula has quite a wet consistency and is very black. The wand has silicone bristles and it has a cone shape. The packaging is really pretty, I like the leopard details. You can buy the full size here for 23$ or the mini one like mine here for 12$. Tarte has only recently arrived in Italy so I haven’t had the opportunity to try much from them, so I was excited to see this in the calendar. I found this mascara in the Sephora Advent Calendar but you can buy both this mini version or the full size at Sephora.
